Hey im sorry but i have to go to bed now cause im goin jet skiin at like 6 in da mornin or sumin... Thanks 4 da lessons ill b back 4 more laater K? Ur a really good teacher!!!
a pet = UN animal de compagnie ('an animal for company')
mother nature = Mère nature
father christmas = LE Père noël ('the father christmas')
Le and Un are masculin, La and Une are feminine.
As for where I learnt French... Due to family problems, I moved from South Africa to Paris ten years ago, with my Mother, sister and brother by my side. I have grown up almost as a Frenchman, but kept my British roots and a deep love for South Africa...
O that story was really good though!! Hmmmmmmm....... what about stuff like pets, or weell, wait do they have stuff like mother nature or father christmas or sumin? When did you learn French?
You'll have to be more precise... If you don't want a list, we can move right along to the next bit... And yes, even feelings are put under gender in French, althought they're almost all feminine. LA colère (Anger), LA pitié (Pity), LA sagesse (Wisdom)...
WOAH!! I've just read what you left for the new story! Thanks! I'm more of a night and especially rain person, except I carry the night on until the early morning... The character is, not 'is based on', but IS my best friend. I'm Peter in the stories! Thanks for the comments!
Moving right along... How's the list coming on?
Ok, i think i understand.....how about, something like cloths or somin. Or wat about...... i don't know...... do feelings vary by gender? I can't think of anything and I think my list is wrong....
In French, all things (and I mean ALL THINGS) are either in the masculine or feminin sense... In English, it is A car, THE car. In French, however, it is LA (feminine) voiture (car), UNE (A, but feminine). Once you've mastered that, you're on the right track. However, it usually takes a fair bit of time to learn, but luckily I'm here to help, knowing both languages. It should be a lot faster thus. Give me a list of things to demonstrate my point, any things.
Don't worry, happens to me all the time... Now then...
Je = I
Moi = I/Me
Tu = You (singular)
Il = He
Elle = She
Nous = We
Vous = You (plural)
Ils/Elles = They (Masculin or Feminin)
!!!WARNING!!! The major difficulty when going from English to French is the Masculine/Feminin rules. I will explain in a moment...
U want 2 become a teacher? I got it! Sorry it took so long, I was writing it down an I couldnt find a frickin pencil!!
Thankfully, wanting to become a teacher later on in life has pushed me enough to develop a rather immense patience... so, the basics?
Hello = Bonjour
Hi/Bye = Salut
Goodbye = Au revoir ('until we see [each other] again')
Ok so far?
My mom used to write...... I have no idea what I want to learn!!! I guess whatevers easy an I must warn you I might have a hard time so you have to promise not to get frustrated k?
